Resource Mobilisation Officer

Under the supervision of the Global Communications and Policy Advocacy Manager, the Resource Mobilisation Officer will help WFA grow its support from funders and identify opportunities for donations for global animal welfare policy advocacy. The Resource Mobilisation Officer will develop and implement a resource mobilisation plan, building WFA’s income-generating function from the ground up.

The main responsibility is to develop and implement WFA’s resource mobilisation plan, including through:

1. Building new relationships with donors
- Identify funding opportunities to secure additional resources for WFA programs.
- Track donor intelligence and provide regular updates on donor profiles.
- Co-draft funding proposals and concept notes to secure new or increased support from donors, including foundations and trusts.
- Support the creation of quality marketing products to attract and secure increased donor resources.
- Contribute to developing messages and arguments to strengthen the investment case for WFA.
- Collaborate with the Membership Officer to develop requests for additional resourcing from WFA members.

2. Ensuring WFA’s compliance with commitments made with donors
- Facilitate and monitor the submission of high-quality and timely reports to donors.
- Provide timely attention and responses to WFA donors.
3. Developing effective use of Salesforce for donor management

The Resource Mobilisation Officer reports to the Global Policy & Communications Manager and works closely with:
- Chief Development Officer and Membership Officer – in developing and implementing - overall resource mobilisation strategy
Communications Officer – in elevating WFA’s profile and attractiveness for donors.
- Finance Officer – in the development of proposals and financial reporting to donors.
- CEO and Deputy CEO – in reporting to the Board and ensuring proposals align with WFA strategy
- Policy team – identifying and describing proposals and gathering data for reporting.
- WFA Board members and other members – in identifying prospects, making connections, exploring collective approaches, and fostering a member fundraising staff network.
- External relationships include donors and other key supporters of WFA.
