About the Role

As our new Donor Retention Manager, you will report to the Director of Fundraising and oversee the fundraising retention programs for World Animal Protection in Canada. You will be responsible for delivering and implementing programs to ensure a stable revenue stream, supporting global and local activities, and growing a balanced supporter base of regular and cash donors.
This is a virtual working position within Canada and the role holder will be required to be in the Toronto office for staff meetings at least twice a year. Some international travel may also be required.

Within the scope of the role, you will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities
•Develop and deliver the annual retention programs by analysing and upgrading fundraising strategies for recurring, cash and mid-level donors.
•Manage the direct response, e-appeal, Telemarketing and SMS/RCS (short message service/rich communications services) programs as they relate to retention, reactivation and upgrade strategies.
•Work in collaboration with the Donor Acquisition Manager and agencies on holistic channel strategies.
•Develop and deliver the retention program budget.
•Produce accurate and timely rolling forecasts for retention programs to ensure budgets are achieved.
•Content development and writing across giving channels including integration of the Power of Animal comprehensive campaign strategy when appropriate.
•Manage vendor relationships.
•Collaborate with the Acquisition Manager to plan direct response retention program and Campaigner conversion strategies through various channels.
•Manage donor reactivation strategies.
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless supporter journey and beyond.
•Analyse results and deliver accurate and timely reporting, analysis and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activities.
•Work collaboratively with the acquisition and communication teams to ensure appropriate transfer of donor stewardship.
•Manage agency relationships to ensure KPI’s are met within deadlines and budgets.
•Develop supporter insights, through data analysis, research and testing to provide strategic input into Fundraising strategy and planning, particularly for retention of regular giving donors.
•Develop appropriate reporting and measurement metrics to measure and evaluate programs particularly retention and lifetime value metrics.
•In conjunction with the Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising, ensure Major Donors communications are part of this journey to help move our donors up the value chain.
•Collaborate and consult with Marcomms, Campaigns, and other departments to ensure a seamless supporter experience from recruitment and beyond particularly Supporter Care to ensure retention activities are implemented consistently and measured.
