About the Role
As the Programme Associate, your role is to help build and connect a network of farmed animal advocates in Singapore and the region through the Southeast Asia Farm Animal Welfare Fellowship (SEAFAWF) programme. You will be responsible for implementing the next fellowship round in collaboration with the programme directors, contributing to the growth of a passionate community of advocates dedicated to addressing issues in industrial animal agriculture. This programme supports individuals pursuing careers in creating a more sustainable and humane food system in Southeast Asia.
About the Organisation
Welfare Matters (formerly Effective Altruism Singapore) is dedicated to expanding the farmed animal protection movement in Southeast Asia. Our programmes inspire and support individuals to:
Improve farmed animal welfare,
Reduce the consumption of farmed animal products, and
Help accelerate the development of alternative proteins.
We aim to support and strengthen the farmed animal protection community in culturally sensitive and locally relevant ways, to strive for a more humane and sustainable food system in Southeast Asia.
Overview
The Southeast Asia Farm Animal Welfare Fellowship (SEAFAWF) is a project under Welfare Matters (previously known as Effective Altruism Singapore). The project’s aim is to build up a community and network of farmed animal advocates in the region. Through our programmes, we seek to find and empower motivated individuals to engage in a career that can create a more sustainable and humane food system in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore.
