About the Role
As the Corporate Engagement Intern supporting GFI’s Direct Engagement Team, you will have the opportunity to conduct research to advance the alternative protein industry and work within a fast-paced, supportive, and impactful organization. The Direct Engagement Team is the team responsible for directly working with the private sector, including investors, foodservice companies, retailers, startups, CPG companies, and traditional meat and seafood companies.
The Corporate Engagement Intern will be responsible for:
* Supporting GFI staff in updating foodservice and retail one-pagers, and the startup manual.
* Maintaining and updating GFI’s company, accelerator, and fundraising databases.
* Researching foodservice companies, manufacturers, investors, alternative protein startups, and retailers for strategic outreach.
* Updating PowerPoint slides and presentations for external presentations.
* Organizing and de-duplicating contacts in Salesforce (GFI’s CRM).
* Performing other duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For
The Corporate Engagement Intern must have:
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Experience conducting basic research.
* Excellent writing skills.
* Experience using databases such as Airtable is preferred, but not required.
* Experience with slide creation in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
* Interest in the alternative protein industry.
* Comfort working remotely and in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.
* Strong support for GFI’s philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in plant based & other alt proteins, public health, environmentalism, climate change, animal protection, or hunger relief.

The Fine Print
* Position Type: Independent Contractor
* Position Term: 20 hours a week for 12 weeks
* Reports to: Marika Azoff, Senior Corporate Engagement Specialist; however, the intern will directly support the projects of the entire Direct Engagement Team (four GFI staff in total).
* Location: Remote, United States
* Stipend: $4,800 (paid in biweekly installments of $800)
