About the Role
With the Veggie Challenge app we teach participants about the many benefits of plant-based eating. The app supports users with tips, recipes and coaching, among other things. Challenge participants can track their diet and earn rewards such as badges and challenging recipes. As a back-end developer for the Veggie Challenge App, you will play a crucial role in creating a seamless and engaging user experience, laying the technical foundation for features such as tracking progress throughout the challenge and earning rewards.
As a member of our app team, which consists of two other developers and a designer, you are the driving force behind developing new functionalities and maintaining existing ones.
Another important task is setting up a new data warehouse. This allows us to better manage and analyze the various data flows within our applications, allowing us to generate valuable insights and improve our user experience.
Because ProVeg is a relatively small organization, in addition to your development work, you also have regular contact with other team members and stakeholders of ProVeg International and provide support where necessary. Your input and expertise are valued in decision-making and strategic planning. You are also a proactive thinker when it comes to product development. You share ideas and suggestions to improve and innovate our app, and you are always looking for ways to optimize the user experience and increase our impact.
About the Organisation
ProVeg International is a food awareness organisation working to transform the global food system by replacing animal-based products with plant-based and cultured alternatives. We work with decision-making bodies, companies, investors, the media, and the general public to help the world transition to a society and economy that are less reliant on animal agriculture and more sustainable for all humans, animals, and our planet. We have offices in nine countries across four continents and are active around the world. ProVeg has a permanent observer status with the UNFCCC, special consultative status with ECOSOC, is accredited for UNEA, and has received the United Nations’ Momentum for Change Award.
