About the Role

Want to help animals and help build something?
This is an unpaid summer position. Legal Impact for Chickens (LIC) seeks a candidate who can either obtain outside funding (via a fellowship, etc.), or receive course credit, for summer work at our animal welfare nonprofit. About us:
LIC is a litigation nonprofit dedicated to making factory-farm cruelty a liability.
LIC was founded in June 2021 by attorney and animal advocate, Alene Anello. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial summer intern to help design and carry out creative, precedent-setting lawsuits, and to help build this new org!
About you:
Zealous, creative, enthusiastic law student
Entrepreneurial spirit
Passion for helping farmed animals
Happy to roll up your sleeves and do all types of nonprofit startup work, beyond just legal work. You don’t need skills or experience in any area—only a willingness to try new things!
Fast learner
Kind to our fellow humans
About the role:
Your role will be a combination of (1) helping us design and pursue creative impact litigation for animals, and (2) helping with everything else we need to do, to build a new nonprofit!
Location: This is a remote, U.S. -based position.
Timing: Summer 2023. Dates are flexible.
Unpaid. We seek a candidate who can find a way to receive outside funding or course credit.
