About the Role

This is an exciting moment to join our Animals in science team and accelerate the EU’s transition towards the replacement of animal based methods for regulatory testing.

This role is a new position that seeks to seize the momentum offered by the success of our recent joint ECI to end animal testing, the announcement of the EU’s intention to develop a roadmap to ultimately end the reliance on animal testing for the safety assessment of chemicals, and the announced revisions of the REACH and CLP regulations.

The position also aims to neutralise the threats inherent to the Commission’s actions under the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (including REACH and CLP’s revisions), which include the possible increased request for safety tests on animals in the short term.

We are looking for a senior policy officer to develop, implement and coordinate our institutional engagement strategy and policy efforts at EU level to facilitate the adoption of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) under EU chemicals legislation.

About the Organisation

The Eurogroup for Animals challenges decision-makers and delivers political advocacy campaigns at the EU level to improve the protection of animal wellbeing. They aim to influence EU law and achieve better legislation, standards, enforcement, and societal attitudes through a community of animal protection organisations.
