About the Role

The Legislative Affairs Manager will be responsible for the development, execution and management of all strategic and tactical legislative activities to advance ALDF’s mission-driven strategy, business plan, and priorities. The focus will be weighted towards state and local legislation nationwide but may include some work on federal legislation as well. The Manager will work closely with the Legislative Affairs Program, the Litigation Program, the Criminal Justice Program, the Animal Law Program, the Pro Bono Program, the Project Management Department and the Communications Department to create, implement, manage, and lead our lobbying efforts. The Manager also will, when appropriate, provide direction to volunteers, coalitions, third party lobbyists and to other external firms hired to support our initiatives.

About the Organisation

The Animal Legal Defense Fund’s mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. The Animal Legal Defense Fund accomplishes this mission by filing high-impact lawsuits to protect animals from harm, providing free legal assistance and training to prosecutors to assure that animal abusers are held accountable for their crimes, supporting tough animal protection legislation and fighting legislation harmful to animals, and providing resources and opportunities to law students and professionals to advance the emerging field of animal law.
