ADI exposes animal suffering in science, entertainment, food, and the wildlife trade. Working to replace the use of animals in research with advanced science and technology; legal protection for animals to end use of animals in circuses, movies, zoos, sport, and public shows; ending the wildlife trade; protection of wildlife and our shared environment. About the Organisation

To deliver on ADI US public policy and legislation objectives at federal, state, and local levels, with the campaign focus on animal testing and replacement of animal use with advanced science and technology, animals used in entertainment, sport, wildlife trade, and the protection of the environment. To monitor policy developments, identify matters of impact or interest, briefing colleagues, drafting up internal policy documents; identifying individuals and policy initiatives of interest; developing strategies. Assisting media and social media teams with copy, calls to action, etc., relevant to public policy, e.g., posts, position papers, press releases, and blog articles. Participation in campaign planning, collaboration and joint actions with ADI Latin America, South Africa, UK, and Europe.

• Work closely with the President and Vice President; produce internal updates for campaigns, media, and development teams.
• Working to deliver successful legislative and policy-changing campaigns at federal, state, and local levels.
• Maintaining ongoing communications with legislators, regulators, and government officials.
• Monitor political and policy developments, and produce internal briefings for colleagues.
• Identify events and matters which may impact ADI campaigns and objectives; circulate internal briefings, advisories, policy documents to colleagues as needed.
• In collaboration with colleagues, development of supporter engagement activities, campaigns, and calls for action.
• Where relevant to public policy, assist media and social media teams with copy for press releases, posts, blog articles, and e-alerts for supporters.
• Maintain engagement with ADI international campaigns – support and collaboration on joint actions with ADI Latin America, South Africa, and UK/Europe.
• Travel to DC, state, or other legislatures is required as needed.
In-office arrangements:
• If based near DC, you are able to travel to the LA office 4 times per year.
• If based near LA, you are able to travel to the LA office 1-2 days per week.

Reports to: President, Vice President

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 (commensurate with qualifications/experience, e.g., master’s/bachelor’s political science/public policy, or JD degree, and/or significant experience in public policy).
Hybrid, remote and on-site. Permanent, full time, exempt, at-will.
Benefits: 100% employer-covered health and dental, and vision discounts; 15 discretionary vacation days; 5 days office closure/December/New Year; Federal holidays. Paid sick leave: 6 days/year. 401(k) with 4% employer match.
